Nightjar (SE) – Picnic Concerts

Nightjar is a multi-instrumental duo from UK/Turkey performing a blend of Turkish classical and Western popular music genres. Formed in Malmö/Lund, Sweden, the duo has enjoyed the company of other musicians from around the world before settling on a smaller constellation with a focus on their common interest in songwriting and storytelling. The nightjar, a bird species, is a nocturnal visitor from warmer climates symbolising the combined backgrounds and interests of Lloyd Degler and Mehmet Ali Arslan.

The Nordic House opens the glass doors and invites you to concerts under the luminous Icelandic sky every Sunday afternoon during the summer in our beautiful greenhouse. The Picnic Concert Series presents award winning Icelandic and international artists with music inspired by tradition or experimenting with the newest genres and tendencies.
The concerts are free and open for all!
You can buy coffee, cake, food or drinks in Aalto Bistro to take out or enjoy afterwards in the iconic rooms of Alvar Aalto.
