10 Arctic artists
10 Arctic communities
10 Arctic songs
– one Pan-Arctic vision!
This is a time of increased international tension in the Arctic. There is war in Europe. The major political regimes of the world look to the North both for access to natural resources and strategic influence. Arctic communities often find themselves as battlegrounds for powers from far away.
The Pan-ArcticVision is a response to all of this.
The Pan-ArcticVision is a Eurovision for the Arctic, an initiative to build community and empowerment in Arctic communities around the globe, to strengthen cross-border contact and dialogue of people who share many of the same living conditions across political divides.
The 2024-edition will have participants from Alaska, Northern Canada (Nunavut), Kalaallit Nunaat/Greenland, Iceland, Faroe Islands, Northern Norway, Northern Sweden, Sápmi, Northern Finland and Russian Arctic (exiles).
The first ever Pan-ArcticVision took place in Vadsø, Northern Norway, in August 2023, and was streamed live to the world. After an exciting vote, Nuuk in Kalaallit Nunaat / Greenland was chosen as the next location. Pan-ArcticVision can now for the second time welcome the circumpolar North to this truly international, border-crossing experience of song, community and empowerment.
Pan-ArcticVision 2024 will go live and streamed from the culture centre Katuaq in Nuuk, Kalaallit Nunaat (Greenland), October 12, 2024.
The Nordic House in Reykjavík will host a Live-Stream party on the 12th October. See event here.
Pan-ArcticVision is a cooperation between NORDTING – The Northern Assembly, Katuaq – Culture Centre Nuuk, KNR – Greenlandic Broadcasting Corporation and Hitt Húsið in Reykjavík.
