LIVESTREAM PARTY for Pan-ArcticVision 2024!
18:00
Welcome to a live-stream party for Pan ArcticVision 2024!
Saturday 12th October the icelandic band Vampíra will compete for Iceland in Pan ArcticVision “eurovision for the arctic”. The competition takes place in Nuuk, Greenland and will be live-streamed all around the globe. In the Nordic House we will offer a fun and exciting evening where we will watch the competition together and celebrate the arctic talents!
Everyone can vote for their favorite musician, you vote might be the one to make your favorite musician win!
The host of the evening will be Mighty Bear, the mysterious “face” of icelandic electronic scene.
„Pollinating the worlds of drag culture and abstract electronic pop. Mighty Bear’s show is audio-visual in nature: any danger of laptop-staring, knob-twiddling boredom is immediately dispelled by the accompanying glittering gowns and towering heels, rippling film imagery, masks, wigs, and a bold, charismatic approach to the stage. Strutting onstage in a ghostly, glamorous mask to a soundtrack of intense but ethereal beats, Mighty Bear is the undisputed dark queen of the Reykjavík electronica scene.“
The bar will be open and we will have flags and posters on scene for your favourite artist.
Access for wheelchairs in Elissa is good, there is a small threshold into the auditorium. Accessible and gender neutral restrooms are on the same floor. This event will be held in English.
All are welcome!
What is Pan ArcticVision?
The Pan-ArcticVision is a Eurovision for the Arctic, an initiative to build community and empowerment in Arctic communities around the globe, to strengthen cross-border contact and dialogue of people who share many of the same living conditions across political divides.
The 2024-edition will have participants from Alaska, Northern Canada (Nunavut), Kalaallit Nunaat/Greenland, Iceland, Faroe Islands, Northern Norway, Northern Sweden, Sápmi, Northern Finland and Russian Arctic (exiles).
Read about all the participants here on the Pan ArcticVision webpage. Videos are on Pan ArcticVisions Facebook page.
The first ever Pan-ArcticVision took place in Vadsø, Northern Norway, in August 2023, and was streamed live to the world. After an exciting vote, Nuuk in Kalaallit Nunaat / Greenland was chosen as the next location. Pan-ArcticVision can now for the second time welcome the circumpolar North to this truly international, border-crossing experience of song, community and empowerment.
Pan-ArcticVision is a cooperation between NORDTING – The Northern Assembly, Katuaq – Culture Centre Nuuk, KNR – Greenlandic Broadcasting Corporation and Hitt Húsið in Reykjavík.
