Exhibition: Dimmalimm – Art Without Borders

This art exhibition at the Children’s Library of the Nordic House is part of the festival Art Without Borders (List án landamæra) and can be found on facebook here.

Opening event of the exhibition will be held on the 4th of May at 18.00 at the Children’s Library of the Nordic House.

Halldóra Sigríður Bjarnadóttir has been influenced by Ísak Óli Sævarsson’s paintings and the children’s story Dimmalimm by Mugg. Her textile works from Icelandic wool are bright, colourful and very playful. The colours of the textiles are closely connected to Ísak Óli Sævarsson’s paintings.

Dimmalimm was first shown during DesignMarch (HönnunarMars) and received outstanding feedback.

Curator of the exhibition is the textile designer Erla Dís Arnardóttir.

NB! The exhibition Skunktúrar og Ofurhetjur will open at the Children’s Library at the same time as Dimmalimm. On the same evening, the Nordic House also invites you to a screening of six short movies by Nordic artists in the main hall.

The exhibition is open at the Black Box throughout the festival, 4th to 13th of May, 10.00-17.00. The house is open until 21.00 on Wednesdays. Entrance is free.

Please be aware of that there are stairs on the main entrance leading from the foyer to the Children’s Library. On the day of the opening, 4th of May, stairs-free access goes through Black Box in the basement (use the elevator). On other days, please get in touch with the staff of the Nordic House and they will open the door between Black Box and the Children’s Library. There is a spacious parking lot next to the Nordic House.
