Exhibition opening – Mid-Atlantic

Welcome to the opening of the exhibition Mid-Atlantic in the Nordic House Thursday, June 13 at. 6 pm

In June 2019, twenty-two artists from Europe and North America worked side-by-side in the studios of Myndlistaskólinn í Reykjavík for the first Mid-Atlantic Keramik Exchange. As methods and practice within the ceramic arts differ greatly between the continents, the exchange presents possibilities for dialogue. Because Iceland is geologically part Europe and part North America and because Iceland is known for its creative culture, Reykjavik offered the right setting for such a meeting. This exhibition features finished works and experimental approaches developed within the exchange.

The opening starts at 6 pm and the project managers of the workshop will address the guests at 6:15 pm, the artists will then discuss their pieces and work 6:30 – 7:15. The exhibition is open until 9 pm on Thursday and from 10 am – 2 pm on Friday, June 14th.
