Hildur Berglind Arndal is a versatile songwriter and performer whose artistic journey spans solo acts and collaborations across Iceland and abroad, including work with Ásta Fanney Sigurðardóttir and international tours with JFDR. Between 2017 and 2023, while based in Copenhagen, she cultivated a distinct “lonely troubadour” persona under the alias H.B. Arndal, resulting in the album Morning, Woman. Recorded in a tiny dormitory room with a single microphone, the project is defined by raw honesty, humour, and a theatrical depth drawn from Hildur’s background as a trained actress.
On stage, H.B. Arndal inhabits various characters, engaging in a dialogue with them to bring the album’s diverse narratives to life. Common themes such as loneliness, loss, love, and hope are woven together with a certain carelessness as a guiding principle.
