Christmas PIPPI:  Story hours in Different Languages & Workshop at the Children´s Library!

Storytellers will read picture books in different languages, with winter or Christmas stories related to Pippi. Come and listen to other languages and see what you understand from the pictures!

Program:

10:30-11:00   Dansk Sang & Fortælletime! (Danish)

11:00-11:30   Norsk Sang- og Fortellerstund! (Norwegian)

11:30-12:00   Suomenlielinen Satutuokio!  (Finnish)

11:30 – 13:00  Workshop for the Whole Family! led by Elli Kyyrönen.  Guests are invited to color and weave Christmas tree decorations together! The workshop will be suitable and modified for all ages; younger ones can color and glue on their decorations, while older participants will weave colorful yarn to make stars. The workshop is free and will be taught in English, Icelandic, and Finnish.

The story hours and workshop will take place in the Children´s library at the Nordic House, where the exhibition PIPPI, Democracy and Voices of Children is on view. The exhibition offers independent play, and you will find Pippi´s adventure house and costumes to play with!

Access to the children’s library is via stairs from the library or via an elevator from the atrium and through the Hvelfing exhibition space. More information on accessibility in The Nordic House is here, click this link.

The exhibition was made in collaboration with the Swedish Institute, Swedish Embassy in Iceland, and 8-year-old students in Hólabrekkuskóli with generous support from RANNÍS Library Fund.
