Symposium: TOWARDS EQUITY IN THE ARTS

We welcome you to a symposium on November 16th, 2024, from 10:00 to 15:00, during Reykjavík Dance Festival. The event will explore equity, diversity, and accessibility in the arts, featuring a keynote speech by Abid Hussain, Director of Diversity at Arts Council England, and a panel discussion by Julian Owusu, Dr. Kristín Loftsdóttir and Miriam Petra Ómarsdóttir Awad. Hosted by choreographer, facilitator and artistic director Sonya Lindfors, the schedule includes a keynote, panel discussions, artist presentations, and group work. The symposium is open to all, and we encourage everyone to register their participation.

The symposium is co-produced by Performing Arts Centre Iceland and The Nordic House and is a part of BRIDGES – nordic collaboration project funded by kultur kontakt nord. Other participants in the project are MDT, HAUT, Dansenshus Oslo and UrbanApa.
