PIKKNIKK CONCERT: Irina Shtreis

PIKKNIKK #7: The Nordic House summer concert series` last act is Irina Shtreis! Irina is performing on Sunday 4th August at 3pm. Free entry as always and bring your friends!

Irina Shtreis is an ambient-folk artist originally hailing from Russia and currently based in Reykjavik. Using keyboard, looper, beats and field recordings, the artist produces multilayered atmospheric compositions that might conjure up sci-fi soundtracks, late 60s baroque-pop or whimsical Soviet cartoons. Released on the artist’s imprint Square the Circle, the debut album Ether was described by The Quietus as “delightfully, ever-so-slightly weird”. The musician’s side project is Miss Naivety, where she fuses acoustic instruments such as guitar and piano with electronic sound.
