TUNE OUR STRINGS TOGETHER: An initiative for the responsible use of artificial intelligence

On Icelandic Language Day, 16 November, the Icelandic Artists’ Association will launch its STILLUM SAMAN STRENGI campaign with a launch event at the Nordic House in Reykjavík. The event will introduce BÍL’s recommendations for the responsible use of artificial intelligence and make them available for distribution.

The aim of these recommendations is to strike a balance between technological development and innovation, while ensuring respect for copyright and the foundations of human creativity. They are intended to guide public authorities, institutions, businesses and organisations in the responsible use of artificial intelligence. Particular emphasis is placed on the protection of copyright, ensuring that the use of works and performances is based on appropriate authorisation, and that artists and authors receive fair terms and remuneration. In this way, the recommendations promote the responsible use of artificial intelligence while safeguarding human creativity and supporting sustainability in the arts and culture.

Over the coming days, campaign videos and media articles will also be published, featuring a range of individuals who will shed further light on the issue. Through this campaign, BÍL aims to raise awareness of the importance of copyright, respect for artists, and the protection of human creativity, and to bring people together around the responsible use of artificial intelligence.
