We start the new year with two new employees! Silje Beite Løken and Nikulás Yamamoto Barkarson. We welcome them warmly to the team!
Silje Beite Løken has taken over the project management of the Nordic Council Literature Prize and literary events at the Nordic House.
Silje is Norwegian and has lived in Iceland since 2016. She has worked as a translator for many years and, most recently, as an advisor at the Norwegian Embassy in Iceland from 2017 to 2026. She therefore brings extensive experience in Nordic cultural cooperation, languages, and literature to the job.
Nikulás is our new technician and will be responsible for all our events in Elissa and more.
Nikulás has previously work as a sound engineer in collaboration with different artists and musician’s in Iceland. He has also work for the Nordic House as an external weekend technician for a few years. We are very happy to welcome him as a full time employee in our team.
