11:00- 11:30 am Swedish / 2 – 2:30 pm Icelandic

The whole family is welcome to a Swedish- Icelandic story hour at the Children´s Library at the Nordic house. This is the first story hour of the winter and therfore we find it appropriate to read in the original language that the Moomin stories were written in, for author Tove Jansson was a Swedish speaking Finn.

A story from one of the Moomin books will be read first in Swedish at 11 am and later in Icelandic at 2pm. After the reading people are welcome to stay at the library, enjoy the facilities and discovered the new Moomin exhibition Reading and writing with the Moomins. The exhibition also has its own educational material available at the library for those who are interested.

Storyteller is Inga Birna Friðjónsdóttir.

Inga is a musician and a fashion designer that grew up in Sweden. She has worked within the creative field and taught artistic subjects in primary schools and community centers around Iceland. She currently makes music under the name Blankiflúr and will take part in a Special Story hour the 5th of December at the Nordic house – singing traditional Swedish Christmas songs
