Summer Workshop at the Nordic House: Nature in art and all around (8-10 y/o)

Glaciers, waterfalls and landscape in the ocean, will be the focus in a four day summer workshop at the Nordic house. Additionally children will get the chance to learn about the birds living in the bird sanctuary around the Nordic house, hear about their travels and the sound they make. The workshop will end with a small exhibition in the greenhouse. Inspiration will be taken from the exhibition POST which will be on view in Hvelfing exhibition hall in the Nordic house at that time. Exploration of the art works and questions raised such as: How do we take care of nature? What responsibility do we have towards nature and how do we change nature with our actions?

Materials will mainly be watercolors and papier mâché ,made from recycled paper, with artist and teacher Estelle Pollaert. The workshop is free of charge but registration needed for there is limited space. You can sign up by sending an email to hrafnhildur@nordichouse.is. All materials will be provided. Teaching takes place in English, French, Icelandic.

Estelle Pollaert is a French multidisciplinary artist based in Reykjavik, Iceland. Formerly trained as a product designer/glass blower in France and in Finland and now a illustration and papier maché specialist working on various fun projects. Her art is playful, colorful and makes us smile everyday we encounter them.

Accessibility to Elissa (auditorium) is good. Accessible and gender neutral restrooms are on the same floor.
