Open call – Iceland Airwaves Off-venue


Open call!

The Nordic House in Reykjavik is accepting applications from artists and musicians for the upcoming Airwaves off-venue concerts, 2nd – 6th November 2016.

It´s open for all artists to apply, but we have a special focus on artists living in a Nordic or Baltic countries, or have a Nordic nationality living abroad.

Please let us know if your are interested in having a concert in our Black Box, by sending a short bio and links to: gunn(at)nordichouse.is (in english or scandinavian) with the title: AIRWAVES OFF-VENUE 2016

The application needs to be in our mailbox before Monday 18th Sept.

Off-venue: Concerts during daytime (12 – 18) , for free for the audience and open to all.

Q: Is the audience seated or standing?

A: The venue has seating for 50 people with option on audience standing in the back.

Q: Is there a stage?

A: Yes.

Q: Is there a PA?

A: Yes. There is a JBL PA with a 16 channel Soundcraft mixer.

Q: Are there monitors?

A: Yes. There are 4 monitors (3 sends from the mixer).

Q: Are there lights?

A: Yes. There are 8 colored lights for the stage.

Q: Is there a backline?

A: Yes. A drum set, two guitar amps and a bass amp.

Q: Do you have a keyboard stand?

A: No.

Q: Do you have instrument cables?

A: No. Bring your instruments and cables.

Q: Is it OK to sell merchendise?

A: Yes.

Q: Do you stream the performance?

A: Yes. The program is streamed live.

Q: Do you pay for travel and stay?

A: No, this is for artists that already planned to come to Reykjavik.

Q: Is the gig payed?

A: No, and we are really sorry for that.
