Fostering Reading Joy in Children and Youth

In connection with the nominations for the Nordic Council Children’s and Young People’s Literature Prize 2026, we invite you to an event where we take a closer look at projects that inspire reading joy among children and young people.

Representatives from den nordiske bokslukeren will present the model behind their projects, which develop pedagogical support materials that can be used as a starting point for discussions in reading sessions with children and young people. In addition, other contributors will share presentations based on their experiences.
Salomon Hellman, a Library Development Specialist for Nordic Culture Point, will come from Finland to present the nominated books as well as Bokslukeren.
Hrafnhildur Gissurardótti, mediator from the Nordic House, will give us insight in a project which was popular and had good results.
Sif Lüscher Rauff works as project manager in Århus for Albus Festival, a literary festival for children https://www.aakb.dk/albus.

The event will be held mainly in the Scandinavian languages (Norwegian, Swedish, Danish) and some in English.
Accessibility
