Cycling Without Age / documentary and lecture

17:00-18:30

Cycling Without Age / documentary and lecture / Nordic House, Thursday May 19th, 17:00-18:30

The Nordic House and Cycling Without Age invites you to a presentation of the project that aims to bring together volunteer cyclists and elderly people who enjoy the freedom and social aspect of a rickshaw bike ride. Cycling Without Age is a worldwide movement that was founded by Ole Kassow in Denmark in 2012. In December 2015, the first rickshaws were brought to Iceland.

The documentary, The Grey Escape, will be screened for the first time in Iceland. The film shows the journey of 17 residents of a home for the elderly who together with volunteers cycled from Denmark to Norway to deliver rickshaws there. Dorthe Pedersen from Denmark will then explain more about the project and finally there will be a discussion about the implementation of the project in Iceland. Sóley Tómasdóttir, Chairman of the City Council, will open the meeting.

The event will be held in English. Everyone is welcome!
