Free two day dance, movement & video workshop
Friday September 2nd: 4pm – 6pm
Saturday September 3rd: 10am – 3pm (with free lunch)

12-year-olds and older.
Auditorium & outdoor area of the Nordic house.

In this workshop students will get the chance to explore in which ways moving bodies, landscapes and cameras can meet. With the help of teacher Janne Gregor each student will develop video letters with an introduction into their personalities that will be presented in the Nordic house. The two day workshop is built up of different exercises including warm ups, body language training and discussions to encourage independence in movement development. During the workshop each of the students will create a video in a location of their choice, in and around the Nordic house, developing the skills of choosing a place as a stage setting with particular questions in mind: What makes this place my favorite? What does it say about me? What physical story do I want to tell?

Participants move and shoot both in front of and behind the mobile phone camera, training their body awareness and improvisation skills. At the end of the workshop students get technical assistance with editing their videos for presentation at the Nordic house.

Please bring a camera or your mobile phone and comfortable clothes and snack of your choice but note that there will be free lunch on Saturday.

The workshop takes place in Icelandic and English. Register by sending an email with name and age to hrafnhildur@nordichouse.is

This workshop happens in context of Goethe Morph* Iceland,(hyperlink) a transcultural art initiative of the Goethe Institute together with the Nordic House Reykjavík.
