19:00

Concert / June 25th 19:00 / For free and open for all

Celebrate these longest days of the year with music! The 25th of June the Swedish string orchestra Capella Nova crosses the bright northern summer sky to play selected music in the Nordic House’s main hall. Capella Nova has a passion not only to play beautiful music but also to explore new ways in the tradition of chamber music. They stretch over a wide repertoire, from early composers as Frescobaldi and Corelli, to Bach, Mozart, string serenades by Carl Nielsen, Elgar and Britten and more contemporary composers as Sjostakovitj, Sallinen, Piazzolla and Pärt. Their musical landscapes will be accompanied by visual ones, showing photographs from Iceland and their hometown Halmstad.

In this concert you will hear music by among others Edward Elgar, Lars-Erik Larsson, Paul Hindemith and Arvo Pärt.

The concert is supported by the Swedish-Icelandic cooperation fund.
