Björkologi

Björkologi is a jazz study in the music of Björk. The jazz entity called 23/8 has chosen songs from Björks catalog of work from Debut to Vulnicura and made them into accessible jazz arrangements for a traditional jazz quartet, consisting of piano, voice, drums and bass. The goal of the project is to explore different sides of Björk’s experimental and unique music. The outcome is music that is interesting for those already familiar with Björk’s music and might open up the extraordinary musical world of Björk to others.

The Nordic house will host two concerts on the 24.th and 25.th of July at 20:00 o´clock, tickets for the price of 2000kr.

The members of the group are singer Stína Ágústsdóttir (voice), Anna Gréta Sigurðardóttir (piano), Leo Lindberg (bass), Emil Norman (drums). The group will be touring Iceland at the end of July 2015 and will also be performing at various jazz festivals.
