Bring your artistic practice to Åland and connect with a new audience in the Nordic region.
The Nordic Institute on Åland invites professional artists from across the Nordic region to apply for Galleri NORDEN’s 2027 exhibition programme.
Applications are welcome from artists working across all media, techniques and forms of artistic expression. The selected proposals will form a varied and engaging programme reflecting the breadth of contemporary artistic practice across the Nordic region, while creating new encounters between artists and audiences in Åland.
Located in the heart of Mariehamn, Galleri NORDEN is a platform for art and Nordic cultural exchange. Åland’s position between Sweden and Finland provides a distinctive and dynamic meeting place for artistic practices, perspectives and audiences from different parts of the Nordic region.
Selected artists will be offered an exhibition period of approximately five weeks, as well as support from the Nordic Institute on Åland with promotion and the exhibition opening. There is no application or exhibition fee. Artists based outside Åland may receive reimbursement for agreed travel, accommodation and artwork transportation costs.
We particularly welcome applications from artists based elsewhere in the Nordic region.
