Wednesday mornings: Short lecture on Harmful Substances in Children’s Environment

Parents, guardians, and all interested parties are invited to a lecture on substances in children’s surroundings, presented by the Executive Director of the Nordic Swan in Iceland. The event will take place in the children’s library at the Nordic House, and guests are welcome to bring their children. Plantain Bistró has an offer for the youngest guests and it is possible to take coffe down stairs. The event is free of charge and will be held in Icelandic.

Which substances in children’s surroundings are harmful to their health?

Why are children particularly vulnerable to these substances?

What effects do these substances have?

Where are they most commonly found?

What alternative products can be used?

The lecture will explore harmful substances in our surroundings and why children are more exposed to their effects. We will discuss the dangers of different substances and how to minimize children’s exposure through simple solutions, informed product choices, and correct product usage.

Everyone is welcome but we highly recommend showing up in time to secure your place.

Accessibility:The children’s library at the Nordic House is open to everyone. Wheelchair access is available via an elevator from the main entrance through the exhibition space Hvelfing. An accessible restroom and baby-changing facilities are available on the main floor. Library staff are available for further information and assistance if needed.

Opening hours: Tuesday – Sunday, 10:00–17:00. The library and all events are free of charge.
