The whole family is welcome to an Icelandic Story Hour! – Culture Night 2026

On the occasion of Reykjavík Culture Night 2026, the whole family is welcome to an Icelandic Story Hour.
The reading takes place in the Children´s library of the Nordic house and the picture books chosen, are all connected to the topic of the current exhibition “The Secret life of insects”.
After the reading guests are invited to join a fun printing workshop in the greenhouse, more info about this event here.
Guests who don´t speak the languages are welcome to join and follow the story through pictures to practice image reading. After the reading visitors are encouraged to enjoy their time and take part in interactive games and crafts, in relation to the exhibition.
Opening hours and accessibility: The Children’s Library is open for all. Accessible for wheelchair users via the elevator and through Hvelfing exhibition space. Accessible restrooms and a restroom for families with babies is on the main floor. Opening hours are TUE-SUN 10 am-5 pm. Entrance to the library and all events is free of charge. This event will be in Icelandic.
