Structure Interactions – DesignMarch 2026
10.00-17:00
Structure Interactions is a series of five machine-knitted wall hangings. Each piece is knitted using three to four colours of cotton yarn and employs knitting techniques that create texture, layering, and depth.
The work explores the interplay between knitting techniques and colour through motifs of moving forms and linear structures, and how colours may appear to fade, blend, or shift depending on perspective and the underlying material construction.
Guðjón Andri graduated from the Fashion design program at the Iceland University of the Arts in 2017 before continuing to a Master’s degree in Textile Design at the Swedish School of Textiles at the University of Borås in Sweden. Having developed an early interest in knitting as a medium, he has since worked experimentally with its technical possibilities, with a particular focus on the relationship between material, structure, and colour. He currently works as a Senior Knitwear Programmer at Knitwear Lab in Almere, the Netherlands, where he is involved in the development and production of knitted textiles using advanced 3D knitting technologies.
