Nordic House welcomes the twelfth edition of the Sequences biennial, Sequences XII: Pause!, to our venue.

The art festival will take place in Reykjavík from October 10–20, 2025. This year’s festival brings together a wide range of Icelandic and international artists who explore slowness – both in artistic practice and in the audience’s experience.

Curator of Sequences XII, Daría Sól Andrews, invites the audience to take a pause from the rush of everyday life by participating in a ten-day program of exhibitions, performances, lectures, guided tours, and more. The festival is an open invitation to stop, reflect, and experience art at a different pace – with space for immersion, calm, and conscious presence.

Artists and detailed program will be announced later.

Sequences is an artist-run art festival held every other year in Reykjavík. The founders of the festival are Kling & Bang, Nýló (The Living Art Museum), and the Icelandic Art Center.

Accessibility: The exhibition takes place in the gallery Hvelfing in the basement, which is accessible by elevator from the main floor. A wheelchair-accessible restroom is available on the main floor, and all restrooms are gender-neutral.
