PIKKNIKK CONCERT: Kompani Bárrogiera

Free entry

PIKKNIKK #5: The Nordic House summer concert series` fifth act is Kompani Bárrogiera! Welcome on Sunday 21st of July at 3pm. Free entry as always and bring your friends!

Mii Leat // Mii Gávdnot is an audio visual installation based around a visual dance performance filmed in the sámi region and outskirt landscapes of Eastern Finnmark in the North of Norway. In the Greenhouse we will see the installation in a performance format. The performance tells the story of being the minorities within the minorities, in this case we showcase the minority identities: LGBTQ+ and the people of sápmi. The Sámi people are the only indigenous people of the
European Union. The Sámi inhabit the region of “Sápmi” – which today encompasses large northern parts of Norway, Sweden, Finland, and of the Murmansk Oblast, Russia.

As well as telling the story of minorities within minorities the creators of this installation/performance wish to celebrate the resilience and resourcefulness of indigenous people, and raise awareness around their relationship with nature and indigenous knowledge.

Refreshments can be purchased in SÓNÓ restaurant to enjoy outside.

PIKKNIKK is the annual summer concert series on Sundays at the Nordic House, put together by José Luis Anderson.
