Free entry

On the occasion of the International Sustainable Gastronomy Day, a walking tour and plant tasting will be offered at the Nordic House. During the walk, led by Borgarnáttúra – Urban Biodiversity, we will identify plant species and discuss the vegetation around the area. The walk starts by the Nordic house at 17 on Tuesday, June 18th. Participation is free and everyone is welcome!

At the greenhouse of the Nordic House, Slow Food Iceland will organize cooking demos, where chefs from the Slow Food movement will be working with locally grown ingredients and foraged plants. Of course, people will be able to have a little taste and lively discussions. In addition, Plantan Bistro will offer sustainable and tasty snacks/drinks, and representatives of W.O.M.E.N. in Iceland will be on site to introduce the vegetable garden that the group cultivates by the Nordic House.

The event is organized in collaboration between: The Nordic House, Borgarnáttúra – Urban Biodiversity Iceland, Slow Food Iceland, W.O.M.E.N. in Iceland and Plantan Bístró.
