Music from around the world! – Concerts for babies & toddlers

Auditorium
Free entry

December is a special time when multiple celebrations take place around the world.

Families and children are invited to a unique interactive concert to sing, play, and celebrate the end of the year with music from around the globe. The program includes solstice chants, Icelandic and Latin-American songs, and more. We’ll explore the music and stories behind each celebration—together!

Kammerhópurinn ConsorTico is an Iceland-based ensemble founded in 2023 by violist Natalia Duarte Jeremías together with harpist Sólveig Thoroddsen and guitar and theorbo player Sergio Coto Blanco. The ensemble performs on variable size, presenting repertoire in duo or trio up to a larger ensemble with instrumental and vocal music. They perform European and Latin American repertoire from the sixteenth to the eighteenth century, and also folk and traditional music. This time they are joined by Kristofer Rodríguez Svönuson, a percussionist and composer of Icelandic and Colombian origin.

The concerts are free and everyone is welcome!

Note that setting is limited and it is encouraged to show up in good time. The time of the concert will be announced soon.

The concert is supported by Rannís – Children’s Culture Fund.

Accessibility: A ramp leads to the Nordic building from the parking lot and there is an automatic button by the main door. Accessible toilets are on the main floor of the building and all toilets are gender neutral.  Elissa Hall has good wheelchair access, but note that there is a very low threshold inside the hall.
