Concert: Folk Songs from Greenland

Pilutaq, a residential institution for girls located in Sisimiut, Greenland, invites all to an afternoon concert on Saturday the 28th of July at 14:00 at the Nordic House. The concert is free and open for all!

Every time Pilutaq travels to other countries or towns, they visit culture houses, community centers, and other institutions where they perform with Greenlandic songs. They have had concerts in the Greenlandic House and the Greenlandic Patient Hotel in Copenhagen, children’s and retirement homes in Greenland as well as many other institutions.

This time, 11 girls and 15 staff members will visit the Nordic House where they will perform Greenlandic rhythmic songs accompanied by guitar. It is an extraordinary chance to hear young Greenlanders perform traditional tunes from Greenland and in this way share their rich cultural heritage.

Before or after the concert, you’re welcome to visit the current exhibitions Inspired by Aalto, 50 memories and Last Chance to See or to enjoy a good cup of coffee at Aalto Bistro. The exhibition rooms are open 10.00-17.00 in the weekends, while Aalto Bistro serves brunch, lunch and dinner 11.30-21.30 every Saturday.
