And is it really true that the character Sophia, in Tove Jansson’s The Summer Book was based upon Tove’s niece, Sophia Jansson? Nordic House head librarian, Erling Kjærbo (FO) interviewed Sophia Jansson (FI), the Chairman of the Board and Creative Director of Moomin Characters Ltd, and Roleff Kråkström (FI), the managing director of Moomin Characters Ltd, about Tove Jansson, the Moomins and nature, during their visit to Reykjavik literary festival 2021.
