At The Nordic House, November 1. at 7:30pm.  Free entrance.

The program will take place in scandinavian languages. Moderator is Tinna Ásgeirsdóttir.

Since the autumn of 2015, the Nordic House has organized monthly Meet the Author evenings with exciting and relevant Nordic writers. Our goal is to present a wide variety of interesting writers whom we invite to talk about their books and authorship. The writers are interviewed in one of the Scandinavian languages by a well-grounded and skilfull moderator and they answer questions from eager and well-read readers and literature lovers in the audience.

During the break, refreshments are available from AALTO Bistro, the restaurant at the Nordic House, and many visitors choose to have dinner at the restaurant prior to the event.

JOHN AJVIDE LINDQVIST (1968) is a Swedish writer, most known for his horror novels. He made his debut in 2004 with the vampire novel Låt den rätte komma in (Let the Right One In). The novel, set in a Stockholm suburb, tells the story of lonely and heavily bullied Oskar and his friendship with the new and very odd girl Eli – who later turns out to be a vampire. The book has been translated into about thirty languages and turned into a film. Last spring, the theatre play with the same name had its premiere at the National Theatre of Iceland. John Ajvide Lindqvist has written several novels – mainly within the horror genre – as well as screenplays for films and TV series. His latest novel, from 2015, is called Rörelsen, den andra platsen and was nominated for the August Prize in the category Fiction in 2015. In this novel, Lindqvist examines the boundaries between that which is true or false, real or supernatural.
