With her debut EP ‘teal’, Copenhagen based eif wanders in a Nordic, teal colored, sonic landscape with her dreamy millenium inspired r’n’b. Electronica productions, a melodic voice, and a notebook filled with stories about heartache and huge dreams play around in an equally melancholic and nostalgic color spectrum.
Over the past two years eif has been exploring a different music environment which it that of Iceland – Vibrant music with wilder and wider artistic expressions, feelings more alternative and raw. Inspired by the sound of Iceland Ann-Sofie Rokbøl, the artist behind eif, is currently writing a new album. During this process she will play a concert at The Nordic House on January 14th where a Live EP will be recorded to catch the true essence of her tour. In return for the inspiration eif is bringing the soulful new-pop sound of Copenhagen.
eif’s musical roots can be found everywhere between gloomy electronica and modern divas such as FKA Twigs and Grimes, to a softer pop sound, like that of Sia and good old Queen B.
Contemporary popular music is one big playground and eif enjoys challenging the traditional pop listener in the meeting of several genres – not just in music, but also in collaboration with artists from different genres of art.
