Knitwear artist Juha Vehmaanperä brings their passion for knitting to Reykjavik. Join Juha for a workshop to learn the hand knitting special techniques wave pattern and tuck stitch.

You’ll need needles of your preferred size. Feel free to try different varieties of needle and yarn sizes for experimentation!
Good basis for the workshop is to know cast on, cast off, knit and purl stitches

Craft Club HEL is a knitting gathering held originally in Helsinki in locations Architecture and Design Museum, galleries and local artist and designer studios. The aim is to create conversational culture around craft and art where people from different backgrounds can come together through a shared interest. By choosing locations that exhibit design, art and local professionals Vehmaanperä’s aim is to weave these cultures together seeing craft as an integral and often overlooked part of art and design world. Lately Craft Club has visited New York and Eindhoven.
Juha Vehmaanperä is a Helsinki based Knitwear artist. Their first large scale museum show opened in February 2026 in the Architecture and Design Museum in Helsinki. Vehmaanperä was awarded Craft Finlandia prize as a part of the biggest craft fair in the Nordics in 2025. Previously they’ve been chosen Young Designer of the Year in Finland 2022. Their work has received international acclaim at Hyéres Fashion Festival and Dutch Design Week. Vehmaanperä’s work has been seen on artists such as CL and Tate McRae.
