Thank you to everyone who attended the opening of ABSENCED, a performative art exhibition curated by Khaled Barakeh.
ABSENCED gives voice to artists who have faced censorship, intimidation, and exclusion in Europe for expressing solidarity with Palestine. As machines perform the work of those silenced, the exhibition invites reflection on freedom of expression and the responsibilities we all share in protecting it.
We’re grateful for the collaboration with Reykjavík City Library and especially with Martyna Karolina Daniel. Thank you all for being there, for your presence and engagement. Your support helps create space for critical conversations and artistic expression that might otherwise go unheard
The exhibition will be open until the 25th May, during the library opening hours.
The exhibition is part of the series Art & Democracy – Join us on the 20th May for a symposium Art & Democracy: Threats to Artistic Freedom, at the Nordic House in Reykjavik.
