The Nordic House reading circle 2026

Welcome to the 2026 Reading Circle at the Nordic House

We will read books in Scandinavian languages, meet, and discuss the works together. The books we focus on are works that have either received or been nominated for the Nordic Council Literature Prize.

The first meeting of the reading circle will take place on Wednesday, 11 February at 18:00. The book we will read is Fars rygg by Niels Fredrik Dahl, winner of the 2024 Literature Prize. This meeting is currently fully booked, but it is possible to join the waiting list.

The second meeting will be on Wednesday, 11 March at 18:00. We will read Insula by Thomas Boberg, who was nominated for the Literature Prize in 2025. We have a few reserved copies for the reading circle and have ordered more. They can be picked up at the library in the Nordic House.

Upcoming meetings will be held on 15 April, 13 May, and 10 June, also at 18:00. In addition to novels, we aim to read poetry, short stories, and other genres throughout the year.

Please send us an email if you would like to be added to the reading circle’s mailing list and receive information about the books, meetings, and registration opportunities.

The coordinator of the reading circle is Silje Beite Løken, project manager for the Nordic Council Literature Prize and literary events at the Nordic House.
