Welcome to our reading circle at the Nordic House 2026
We read books in Scandinavian languages (Danish, Norwegian and Swedish), get together, and discuss these works. The books we are focusing on are those which have won or been nominated to The Nordic Council Literary Price.
The first meeting takes place on Wednesday February 11th at 18:00 hours, and the novel we are reading is Fars rygg by Niels Fredrik Dahl, who won the prize in 2024. The meeting is full, but it is possible to register on a waiting list.
The second meeting takes place on Wednesday March 11th at 18:00 hours and Insula (nominated last year), by Thomas Boberg, is the novel we will read.
The other meetings will take place on April 15th, May 13th and June 10th. We are planning on reading poetry, short stories and other genres during the year and not solely novels.
We are awaiting the Nordic Council Literary Price nominees 2026 in excitement, they are to be announced on February 26th and will give us an idea of what to read during the spring.
Please send us an e-mail if you wish to be registered on the e-mail list for our book circle and get information about the books, meetings and possibility to register. There will also be a chance of registering on the wait list for the meeting on February 11th.
For all of you who have registered already: If you know that you are registered on February 11th, but can not make it, please let us know and another member of the reading circle can take your place.
The coordinator of the reading circle is Silje Beite Løken, project manager for the Nordic Council Literature Prize and literary events at the Nordic House. Contact her by email: silje(at)nordichouse.is
