The Ocean – Blue Growth in the North

The Nordic Region in Focus, The Norwegian Embassy in Iceland and The Ministry for Foreign Affairs invite to a seminar on the occasion of the Day of the Nordic Region, where the topic of the ocean in Nordic co-operation is the focus.

The oceans and seas are inseparable from the history, culture, economy and nature of the Nordic countries. The Nordics, to a varying degree, depend on the ocean and its natural resources for economic growth, prosperity and well-being. The sustainability of the ocean, its resources and ecosystems, is a matter of priority for all the Nordic countries. The Nordics recognise that the oceans face challenges that will only be addressed through multi-national co-operation, and have taken a leadership position internationally.
