Transitions towards a Low-carbon Energy future
12-13
The international research project “Trajectories towards a sustainable Energy future” was initiated in 2016. The aim of the project is to develop an integrated systems dynamics model of the Icelandic energy system, enabling multidimensional comparison of energy system development trajectories towards the goal of carbon neutral and sustainable energy systems. The project has received funding from The Icelandic Research Fund, Vegagerðin (The Icelandic Road and Coastal Administration) and Landsvirkjun (National Power Company of Iceland).
This is an open seminar and held in English.
In this seminar, we will present the project, its aims and expected outcomes. It will be put in context with international research as well as put in context with current policy-making on energy transitions in Iceland.
Speakers:
Eyjólfur Ingi Ásgeirsson Associate Professor at Reykjavik University
David Keith Assistant Professor at MIT
Erla Sigríður Gestsdóttir Senior Advisor Energy Markets and Infrastructure at The Ministry of Industries and Innovation
Moderator: Brynhildur Davíðsdóttir Professor at University of Iceland
