Mýrin: International Children’s and Youth Literature Festival in Reykjavík
IN THE MOORLAND – “NORDIC WONDERS”
The Festival presents the best of European children’s literature, such as the popular author and illustrator Rasmus Bregnhøi, the mind behind the Danish series Valhalla; Peter Madsen, and many other interesting international names in children’s literature.
The theme for the festival is the Nordic. The Nordic House is thereby a fitting venue where children, parents and teachers can indulge themselves in literature in inspiring surroundings.
Mýrin International Children’s Literature Festivel offers unforgettable experiences for children in all ages, debates and lectures for professionals in the field and moreover, activities for everyone with interest in the magical world of children’s literature.
The programme spans over 3 days from October 11-14 and covers topics such as
- Ecocriticism in children’s literature
- How computer games can create better books
- Disappearing and discovering oneself in pictures, the visual world for children today
- Communicating cultural heritage through children’s books
The festival days also offer a wide range of different workshops, exhibitions, music, mini seminars, poetry massage and much more.
