A Tree for each season

13:00 - 15:00
Children's Library
Free entry

The whole family is invited to an experimental workshop at the children’s library that draws inspiration from the different artworks and illustrations at the current exhibition The Tree.

The exhibition explores the concept of trees in children’s books, featuring illustrations from Nordic picture books. These books are part of The Bookworm, a Nordic database of educational materials related to books nominated for The Nordic Council Children and Young People’s Literature Prize. The database is free and accessible to everyone in all Nordic languages at bokslukaren.org.

Guests are invited to try out different forms of drawing and painting exercises where materials such as colored pencils, colored filter pens and watercolors will be used simultaneously and sometimes mixed. The focus will be on methods used in the books “Freja och Huggormen by Fredrik Sonck & Jenny Lucander and “Alla Mina Sista” by Maija Hurme.

The workshop is for free and everyone is welcome!

ACCESSIBILITY: The Children’s Library is accessible for wheelchairs through the exhibition hall Hvelfing. Library staff can give guidance. Restrooms are wheelchair accessible and gender-neutral.
