Mamdouh313 – Dj Set

Mamdouh313 [LB,SE], formerly known as Mamdouh, has been a significant figure in Gothenburg’s arts and music scenes since moving to Sweden in 2017. Known for his DJ-ing and commitment to fostering diversity in the cultural scene, Mamdouh313 has organized events and booked artists from across the EU, while also performing in numerous cities throughout the region and beyond. True to his roots, Mamdouh313 blends contemporary electronic dance music with heavybass, disco, baile funk and more, drawing inspiration from West Asia, North Africa, and the Levant. This fusion promises a genre-defying, borderless musical experience.

As the founder of Not Your Habibi & Infra Artist Collective* Mamdouh313 is deeply ingrained in Gothenburg’s creative tapestry. Beyond the DJ booth, he wears the hats of a multimedia artist, performer, cultural worker, and event organizer.

Prompted by the phenomenon of surrender, his current art projects examine media-specific instances to erasure, compromise, and abandon; work that relies on object making, performance, installation, prints, photographs, and video as tools to consider the curious nature of letting go. Mamdouh313 tries to develop artworks that speak both to him and others about the ambivalence of the past and the present. His experimental artworks, rich in layers and stories, often explore themes of non-Eurocentric narratives, identity, sex, and religion.
