Ceasetone plays with genres! Started out 2012 as an Icelandic solo project by Hafsteinn Þráinsson, the band has stretched in size and genres since. The acoustic folksy-roots have been mixed with electronic beats and atmospheric strings and become what it is today. Their debut album “Two Strangers” has been well received and was nominated for the Icelandic Music Awards in 2016. At our Picnic Concert, you will experience Ceasetone’s frontman Hafsteinn Þráinsson performing acoustic versions on the band’s songs under the Icelandic summer sky accompanied by a cellist.
“They’re Icelandic purveyors of solemn, intense shoegaze with a string quartet, suggesting a new genre – chamber post-rock” – The Guardian
