Are you a girl, 16 years or older, and do you want to write music?
Then this workshop is for you! No matter if you have just started writing music, or you are a experienced composer, you are welcome! Get new ideas and tools on how music can be written and thought, and try it out in practice in this workshop, which ends with a joint concert and talk.
Rune Rebne (NO) who teaches in composition at the Norwegian Academy of Music is in charge of the workshop. Usually boys dominate the music industry, but Rune wants to create a safe environment where there’s room for the girls’ works and ideas. “If girls meet in inspiring, stimulating and safe surroundings, positive things happen!”, he says.
The workshop has been held several times, and we are happy it’s finally coming to Iceland.
The workshop is in the Nordic House and will be held in English.
The workshop is connected to the project “Nordlyd”, who are holding a concert June 1st at 20:00 in the Nordic House. The concert is for free and open for all.
