Made by Choice<\/h4>\n

Landscape Experience consists of expressive landscapes painted on wood, and transformed into furniture. The installation is completed with soundscapes created in sync with the entire concept. Landscape Experience is a joint creative collaboration and installation by Finnish furniture brand Choice<\/a><\/em>, landscape architect and artist Lotta Jalava, and Finnish pop musician Mikko Pyk\u00e4ri<\/p>\n

The Finnish design brand Choice<\/i> delivers the furnitures in the installation. Choice<\/i> works under the the headline: Visionary nordic design & tailored furniture production. They wish is to bring product creation closer to people. Their carefully selected designs are only made in small batches, so they in cooporation with the user can improve them one choice at a time.<\/p>\n

The furniture is decorated by the Finnish artist and landscape architect Lotta Jalava. Lotta has studied landscape architecture at the Aalto Univeristy of Arts, Design and Architecture in Helsinki and works among others freelance as a landscape architect in the company MASU Planning.<\/p>\n

To accompany the furniture the Finnish pop musician Mikko Pyk\u00e4ri will be making music for the installation.<\/p>\n

Lokal<\/strong><\/h4>\n

 <\/p>\n

Lokal<\/a><\/em> is\u00a0a concept store and home to independent Finnish art, design and craft. Besides the unique art pieces in the gallery space, there is a wide array of selected products from some of the leading names in ceramics, furniture, art prints and kitchen ware. There is a strong emphasis on the timeless value of\u00a0handmade items,\u00a0craftsmanship and\u00a0small scale production. The themed group exhibitions change every 1-2 months.<\/p>\n

Lokal<\/em> is run by photographer Katja Hagelstam. Inspired to create a space\u00a0where to\u00a0showcase\u00a0the works of Finnish artists and designers, she opened Lokal<\/em> in April 2012. It has been growing and changing ever since, showing a mix of recognized and up-and-coming artists. Lokal<\/em> is also a Helsinki retailer of highly acclaimed Fiskars-based furniture brand\u00a0Nikari<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A stretchy RAGAMUF<\/em> <\/a>chair rug is a chair cover, which fits to different shapes and sizes of chairs. It is made my hand from knitted rag,\u00a0which is produced from textile surplus of the textile industry.<\/p>\n

Every RAGAMUF chair rug is unique. Each chair rug is a piece of art –\u00a0a maker designs her own rug by choosing it’s colors and shapes.\u00a0This way work becomes remarkable to her and each rug is a personal Homemade Homemate<\/em>.<\/p>\n

We employ Syrian refugee women near the Syrian border in Turkey.\u00a0We hire women without a livelihood to enable them to live fulfilling, independent lives.<\/p>\n

Plain color RAGAMUF chair rug covers are also available in 21 different colors.<\/p>\n
