Saturday March 25th 11:00-14:00-\u00a0<\/strong>Open for all (children from 4 years old).<\/p>\n

The workshops will be in icelandic\/ english and its for free.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bring your kids to these two workshops arranged by SuoMu, The Finnish Association of Design Learning. Make your own piece of design.<\/p>\n

You can participate in two workshops during the day:<\/h4>\n

11:00-14:00:<\/strong> \u201dOTHER WORLD – open window workshop\u201d by Hanna Kerman. Let\u2019s re-colour and re-design the world! With scissors, stickers and colourful film, the windows become another reality, a bright and wild Tiffany-like carnivalesque social design. This will be hands-on design learning with colours and shapes. A piece of design that can stay at Nordic House.<\/p>\n

13:00-14:00:<\/strong> \u201dHABI KIDS – dreaming workshop\u201d by Viivi Lehtonen. Habi Kids is a special kids place inside Habitare design fair. We use service design and co-creation methods to design it better for kids. Come and join the co-creation by creating ideas together.<\/p>\n

About SuoMu<\/h3>\n

The Finnish Association of Design Learning promotes the use of design education in different teaching platforms, leisure activities, and among the general public. SuoMu works in co-operation with various educational and cultural actors. The design education in both the primary and advanced level highlights the prevalence of design in all its aspects of our everyday life and makes the processes of design itself visible.<\/p>\n

SuoMu produces contents, such as design workshops and lectures for schools and different cultural events. They kicked off the The Mutku-project in 2012 \u2013 a project about design learning for elementary school \u2013 which\u00a0 resulted as a design education guide book: \u201dMutku\u201d for primary school teachers, published in 2014.<\/p>\n

In the years 2016-2017 the Finnish primary schools are adjusting their new curriculum \u2013 and design learning will play a bigger part in learning.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
