He made his debut as a poet in 1976, but he has also published in many other genres; short stories, novels, children\u00b4s books, plays and screenplays. Saabye Christensen is probably best known for his novels, such as <em>Beatles <\/em><strong>\u2013<\/strong> that has reached something of a cult status in Norway <strong>\u2013 <\/strong>and the great epic novel <em>Halvbroren <\/em>(<em>The Half Brother<\/em>), which was awarded the Nordic Council Literature Prize in 2002. <em>Halvbroren <\/em>has been adapted into a TV series that was broadcasted in all the Nordic countries. For his latest novel, <em>Magnet <\/em>(2015), Saabye Christensen received the Brage Prize, a prize that he also received for <em>Halvbroren<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Since the autumn of 2015<\/strong>, the Nordic House has organized monthly Meet the Author evenings with exciting and relevant Nordic writers.
