The Winter Exhibition at the Nordic House Children\u2019s Library opens on Saturday, October 10th, from 2 PM \u2013 4.30 PM.<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During the day, the youngest visitors can join a movement workshop, explore the exhibition, and take part in a scavenger hunt. Find all the things and head to the library desk to claim your reward!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Games in connection with the new exhibition will also be available.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The exhibition <\/span>Buildings and Bodies<\/span><\/b> is based on the book <\/span>Kurjen Kartta <\/span><\/i>by <\/span>Reetta Niemela<\/span><\/b> and features beautiful illustrations by <\/span>Eri Shimatsuka<\/span><\/b>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Architecture is all around us, even if we do not always notice it. The buildings and spaces we inhabit shape our daily lives\u2014how we move, play, work, and interact with one another.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

But how do design and architecture affect us? What kind of homes do we want to live in? Do we need different spaces for different activities\u2014and what makes a good space?<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In Alvar Aalto\u2019s designs, human beings were always the priority, and children were no exception. In his plans and layouts, Aalto took children and their needs into account. His work reminds us that children have a right to a good daily life and an environment that considers their needs.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Exhibitions and events in The Nordic House are always free, and everyone is welcome!<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Access<\/span><\/i><\/b> to the children\u2019s library is via stairs from the library or with the elevator from the atrium and through the Hvelfing exhibition space.
