Authors from Finland, the Faroe Islands, Ireland, Lithuania and Iceland will read their stories in full, giving audiences the opportunity to immerse themselves in each literary world and experience the stories in their entirety.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"672\" data-end=\"784\">The authors will read in their original languages, while Icelandic translations will be projected onto a screen.<\/p>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"1435jou\" data-start=\"786\" data-end=\"826\"><span role=\"text\"><strong data-start=\"790\" data-end=\"826\">SATURDAY PROGRAMME \u2013 5 September<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"827\" data-end=\"842\"><strong data-start=\"827\" data-end=\"842\">14:00\u201317:00<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"844\" data-end=\"1107\"><strong data-start=\"844\" data-end=\"877\">Gu\u00f0r\u00fan Eva M\u00ednervud\u00f3ttir (IS)<\/strong><br data-start=\"877\" data-end=\"880\" \/><em data-start=\"880\" data-end=\"1039\">Gu\u00f0r\u00fan Eva M\u00ednervud\u00f3ttir is well known in Iceland for her novels, but she is also one of the country\u2019s finest short story writers. Her short story collection<\/em> \u00c1stin, Texas <em data-start=\"1053\" data-end=\"1107\">received the Fj\u00f6ruver\u00f0launin literary award in 2019.<\/em><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1109\" data-end=\"1362\"><strong data-start=\"1109\" data-end=\"1134\">Sheila Armstrong (IE)<\/strong><br data-start=\"1134\" data-end=\"1137\" \/><em data-start=\"1137\" data-end=\"1343\">Sheila Armstrong is a writer from northwest Ireland. Her books and stories have been translated into ten languages and have received numerous nominations. She recently published the short story collection<\/em> How to Gut a Fish.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1364\" data-end=\"1621\"><strong data-start=\"1364\" data-end=\"1388\">Tapio Koivukari (FI)<\/strong><br data-start=\"1388\" data-end=\"1391\" \/><em data-start=\"1391\" data-end=\"1573\">Tapio Koivukari is well known to Icelandic readers, with many of his books having been translated into Icelandic. He is one of Finland\u2019s most highly regarded writers, and his novel<\/em> Predikarastelpan <em data-start=\"1591\" data-end=\"1621\">received the Runeberg Prize.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"1f1zwpw\" data-start=\"1623\" data-end=\"1661\"><span role=\"text\"><strong data-start=\"1627\" data-end=\"1661\">SUNDAY PROGRAMME \u2013 6 September<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1662\" data-end=\"1677\"><strong data-start=\"1662\" data-end=\"1677\">14:00\u201317:00<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1679\" data-end=\"2008\"><strong data-start=\"1679\" data-end=\"1709\">Einar M\u00e1r Gu\u00f0mundsson (IS)<\/strong><br data-start=\"1709\" data-end=\"1712\" \/><em data-start=\"1712\" data-end=\"2008\">Einar M\u00e1r Gu\u00f0mundsson is one of Iceland\u2019s most widely read authors, both in Iceland and internationally, and has received, among other honours, the Nordic Council\u2019s Literature Prize. Over the years, he has published two outstanding collections of short stories and is now returning to the form.<\/em><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2010\" data-end=\"2334\"><strong data-start=\"2010\" data-end=\"2035\">Maggie Armstrong (IE)<\/strong><br data-start=\"2035\" data-end=\"2038\" \/><em data-start=\"2038\" data-end=\"2219\">Maggie Armstrong is a Dublin-based writer. She worked as a journalist for many years before turning to fiction and attracted considerable attention with her short story collection<\/em> Old Romantics, <em data-start=\"2235\" data-end=\"2334\">which was nominated, among other awards, for the Irish Book Awards in the Best Newcomer category.<\/em><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2336\" data-end=\"2585\"><strong data-start=\"2336\" data-end=\"2361\">Alvydas \u0160lepikas (LT)<\/strong><br data-start=\"2361\" data-end=\"2364\" \/><em data-start=\"2364\" data-end=\"2434\">Alvydas \u0160lepikas is one of Lithuania\u2019s best-known writers. His novel<\/em> My Name Is Maryt\u0117 <em data-start=\"2453\" data-end=\"2585\">has been translated into numerous languages. He is a versatile writer, working not only on the page but also for stage and screen.<\/em><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2587\" data-end=\"2830\"><strong data-start=\"2587\" data-end=\"2609\">V\u00f3nbj\u00f8rt Vang (FO)<\/strong><br data-start=\"2609\" data-end=\"2612\" \/><em data-start=\"2612\" data-end=\"2830\">V\u00f3nbj\u00f8rt Vang has visited Iceland many times and has built up a devoted following here \u2014 and not only here, as she received the Nordic Council\u2019s Literature Prize last year.
