This hands-on and imaginative workshop invites participants to co-create and invent new rituals for pollinating plants and flowers in Icelandic greenhouses \u2014 collaborating with or embodying pollinators. As climate and ecological constraints challenge our traditional reliance on bees and bumblebees, we will explore speculative and practical alternatives to support local growing systems and celebrate pollination as a sensory exchange.\u2019<\/p>\n

Join us at the Nordic House greenhouse on Sunday, 19th of October between 13.00 to 14.00<\/p>\n

The workshop is part of Sequences XII: Pause, the event is open and free to all, and is held in english.<\/span><\/p>\n

Thomas Pausz<\/strong><\/p>\n

Thomas Pausz (b.1978,<\/span> France) is a visual artist and speculative designer based in Reykjav\u00edk. He creates sculptural and conceptual works that explore post-human ethics, ecological inquiry, environmental storytelling, and the possibility of multispecies coexistence. Pausz\u2019s installations often evoke hybrid worlds that exist between natural systems and human intervention. His ecological media practice creates \u201cfrictions\u201d between life forms and technologies, probing the haunted intersections between biology, computation, and environmental ethics.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In his work Double Capture<\/i>, he invites us into the intimate, sensuous choreography of pollination, not as a biological process alone, but as a relational, time-based performance between species. The greenhouse becomes a living instrument, attuned to the secret signals exchanged between flowers and their pollinators: the vibratory language of touch, color, scent, and invisible electromagnetic pulses. Double Capture <\/i>refers to the act of pollination, where the flower “captures” the pollinator, and vice versa.<\/span><\/p>\n
