Participants are welcome to bring their own materials, but there will also be supplies available on-site, including paints, paper, yarn, and more.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"447\" data-end=\"569\">Alongside the event, we will compile a list of artists, crafters, and creators who use their work as a form of activism.<\/p>\n<h4><strong data-start=\"575\" data-end=\"584\">What?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>A workshop and discussion on art and activism.<\/p>\n<h4 data-start=\"637\" data-end=\"653\"><strong data-start=\"641\" data-end=\"651\">Where?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p data-start=\"654\" data-end=\"705\">The Nordic House, S\u00e6mundargata 11, 102 Reykjav\u00edk.<\/p>\n<h4 data-start=\"707\" data-end=\"722\"><strong data-start=\"711\" data-end=\"720\">When?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p data-start=\"723\" data-end=\"760\">March 1st, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.<\/p>\n<h4 data-start=\"762\" data-end=\"782\"><strong data-start=\"766\" data-end=\"780\">Languages:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p data-start=\"783\" data-end=\"833\">Icelandic, English, and Icelandic Sign Language.<\/p>\n<h5 data-start=\"835\" data-end=\"859\"><em><strong data-start=\"839\" data-end=\"857\">Accessibility:<\/strong><\/em><\/h5>\n<p data-start=\"860\" data-end=\"1130\"><em>The Nordic House is largely wheelchair accessible. A ramp leads up to the entrance, and an elevator provides access to the exhibition space, Hvelfing. The children&#8217;s library is accessible via Hvelfing for wheelchair users. The event space, Elissa, is fully accessible.<\/em><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1132\" data-end=\"1241\"><em>Accessible restrooms are available on the main floor, and all restrooms in the building are gender-neutral.<\/em><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1243\" data-end=\"1348\"><em>A sensory-friendly space will be available during the event, located near the venue and clearly marked. puplictransportation &#8211; Bus 15 (stop: \u00cdslensk erf\u00f0agreining). -Buses 1, 3, and 6 (stop: H\u00e1sk\u00f3li \u00cdslands).<\/em><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1468\" data-end=\"1585\">This event is part of <strong data-start=\"1490\" data-end=\"1502\">Uppskera<\/strong>, a cultural festival taking place in Reykjav\u00edk from February 8 to March 8, 2025.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"1587\" data-end=\"1592\" \/>\n<h3 data-start=\"1594\" data-end=\"1657\"><strong data-start=\"1598\" data-end=\"1655\">Uppskera \u2013 Cultural Festival for Disabled People 2025<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1659\" data-end=\"1881\">The festival celebrates the 20th anniversary of Disability Studies at the University of Iceland. Its aim is to highlight the contributions of scholars, disability organizations, and disabled artists to Icelandic culture.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1883\" data-end=\"1922\">The festival features two key events:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1923\" data-end=\"2037\">\n<li data-start=\"1923\" data-end=\"1986\"><strong data-start=\"1925\" data-end=\"1941\">February 21:<\/strong> A conference at the University of Iceland.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1987\" data-end=\"2037\"><strong data-start=\"1989\" data-end=\"2005\">February 22:<\/strong> A cultural festival at Harpa.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2039\" data-end=\"2220\">Additionally, various events will be held across Reykjav\u00edk, including exhibitions, film screenings, literary evenings, performances, poetry readings, workshops, and museum events.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2222\" data-end=\"2440\">The program will be available in easy-to-read format, and all events will have sign language interpretation.
