Welcome the third event of the Shoptalk series, this time with artist Varna.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The duration of the event is 90 minutes, during which Varna will discuss her works, followed by an engaging Q&A session.<\/p>\n

What exactly is \u201cShoptalk\u201d? It\u2019s\u00a0not your typical artist talk. Unlike traditional artist talks, where only visual artists take the stage to discuss their works and processes, \u201cShoptalk\u201d boldly broadens its horizons to\u00a0showcase\u00a0the creative minds of musicians, dancers, choreographers, and a diverse array of other creative practitioners. The aim of this series is to ensure maximum accessibility, making \u201cShoptalk\u201d a platform for everyone, whether\u00a0you\u2019re\u00a0an art enthusiast, a professional artist, or simply driven\u00a0by curiosity.<\/span><\/p>\n

Each month, we feature a different creative practitioner who offers you an enticing glimpse into their unique world of creativity.\u00a0Admission is free of charge\u00a0and everyone is welcome. \u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Varna<\/strong> is a drum dancer and performance artist. Her art is deeply rooted in her ancestral heritage, with her distinct soundworld\u00a0inspired by traditional Greenlandic drum dancing. As a multidisciplinary artist, she explores her traditional and spiritual practices, which are infused with her multifaceted experiences as a contemporary singer-songwriter, experimental composer, actor, social researcher, and guidance counselor. Varna is the artistic and managing director of Qilaat, a cultural organization committed to promoting, preserving, and developing the traditional heritage of drum dancing for new stages. Greenlandic drum dancing was inscribed into UNESCO’s representative list of the intangible cultural heritage of humanity in 2021. You can listen to the interview that Varna conducted in collaboration with the National Museum of Greenland during the process.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n
