Today playing on Artic Concerts is:\u00a0<\/strong>KK (Kristj\u00e1n Kristj\u00e1nsson) is Iceland\u2019s leading blues and folk musician.<\/p>\n

KK<\/strong> who just celebrated his 60th birthday was born in Minnesota US 1956, but later moved to Iceland with his family. He attended music school in Sweden for four years and then played his way across Europe from 1985 until 1990, when he returned to Iceland. He has been awarded the Icelandic Music Prize twice.<\/p>\n

Arctic Concerts<\/strong> is a series with outstanding Icelandic and Nordic musicians, performing diverse musically interesting programs for travelers, as well as locals, at the Nordic House. The concert series is ideal for travelers interested in music from Iceland and the North Atlantic region. The different programs vary in stile;\u00a0 classical,\u00a0 jazz, folk and popular music performed by superb local musicians and Nordic guests, mainly with music from Iceland and it\u2019s neighboring countries.<\/p>\n

Dinner and a concert<\/h3>\n

The exceptional Aalto Bistro<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0 (the Nordic House restaurant) is open for dinner before the concerts, offering a special Arctic dinner for concert guests. Aalto Bistro emphasis on Nordic\u00a0food inspired by central European cuisine.\u00a0Book a table<\/a>\u00a0 \u00a0AAlto kitchen is open till 21.30 on Thursday evenings.<\/p>\n

Transportation:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Nordic House is in central Reykjav\u00edk. The walking distance from the city center is approx. 15 minutes. You can also use Str\u00e6t\u00f3 and take route 15 and get off at \u201c\u00cdslensk Erf\u00f0agreining\u201d. You can also take route 14 and get off at the University of Iceland. We recommend\u00a0www.straeto.is<\/a>\u00a0to find the most suitable route.<\/p>\n
